Completed

Well this weekend I completed my Copic colouring four which means I am the proud owner of the below certificate for completing the European Copic Colouring Programme 😁 Although I may have completed the course I am in no way an expert in Copic colouring I now need to practice, practice, practice. What the course does however is provide you with knowledge, skills and confidence that you can take forward with you on your colouring journey. Hopefully improving with every piece coloured and having the confidence to tackle images that may of once seemed impossibly daunting.

If you are interested in starting your own Copic journey then you can find the class list here on Faye's blog Stampin Fluffnstuff. The classes are run by the very lovely Faye Wynn-Jones, she is an amazing teacher with the patience of a saint. So it doesn't matter if you've never picked up a Copic in your life or been doing it for years, you will learn so much by taking these classes. I do feel slightly sad that I have no more classes to do although I will continue to book in on the technique classes when Faye is up in my neck of the woods.
Faye is always accompanied by Tracy from Dies to Die For and her pop up shop. Make sure you have been saving your pennies as there is so much scrummy stuff that you really can't live without. I always spend a small fortune despite being strict with myself and telling myself I mustn't. There is also a link to the Copic colouring classes on the Dies to Die For web page (link above). Next time I post I will hopefully be able to share a make with you, at the moment it's not fully completed but need to get a shuffle on as it's for my lovely MIL for Mother's Day.

Missing in Action

Well it's been a very long time since I posted anything here but have decided it's time to once more blow off the cobwebs and start sharing my creations with the blogging world.
Although I haven't been posting I have never stopped creating and making so have a lot of things to share.
My first share though is not something I made but my beautiful first grandchild Lynk Charles born on the 18th February 2019 💙

Not A Card

Hello to everyone in blogland, I hope you all had a very Happy Christmas and are looking forward to 2014. I have been busy crafting in one form or another as always just don't seem to get around to posting anything on my blog these days :(
Just thought I'd share with you the Christmas cake that I made this year as I am really pleased with how the decorations turned out (the cake itself tastes pretty amazing too).

I love both the Despicable Me films and am just a little bit obsessed with Minions. I can't take credit for the original idea though as I found an image of a Minion cake when trawling the internet one day and then after doing a search found a post on how to make Minion figures out of sugar paste. A lot of hours went into the making of this cake and I do have to say it was worth every moment as the response from family and friends has been amazing.

Bank Holiday

Well it just goes to show the effects of a little bit of extra time can do YAY!!! another post from little old me which also means another card :) The weather here in my bit of Cheshire hasn't been too bad over the BH weekend, Saturday was a bit grey but other than that it has been dry and today was HOT and SUNNY so of course it put me in the mood to make a Christmas card. I actually had a bit of a colouring day yesterday and coloured a number of images so this is the first card made from my colouring session.

The image used is Lili of the Valley 'Twinkling Star' which I have coloured (in what must be one of my favourite colour combinations) with my trusty ProMarkers and then liberally sprinkled with glamour dust the edges of the card the image is stamped onto is slightly distressed using Tim Holtz distress ink 'Faded Jeans'. The decorative card is from a pack called 'Silent Night' and the brand is 'First Edition' which I have to admit I had never heard of, I bought this pad last week from Range and I just love the muted colour palate. I think that a lot of my cards this year will have card from this pack incorporated into them somewhere, so much so that I think that I need to go and invest in a 2nd pad.
The sketch I have used is one of Dawny P's but not sure where I found it, have had a look on her blog (click on her name for the link) but it's not one shown on there so I must have found it on a challenge blog at some point. I haven't faithfully followed the sketch the ribbon embellishments, charm and gems are all me. The image and decorative card has been matt and layered onto plain card stock from my stash the ribbon, charm etc. are also from my stash.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Missing in Action

Well another posting famine from me :( I have very good intentions when I post and then within a few days my blog is again covered in dust and cobwebs. I have blown off the dust again and so hello blogging world. I have been busy crafting in one form or another making cards for friends and family and also my Christmas cards for this year I saw a post somewhere that said Christmas is only 17 weeks away eek!!! better get a shuffle on. I have also been making some decorative items for the house, little bird cages that I filled with artificial flowers and have hung from chains in the bathroom also x-stitching little welcome hangers with owls and hearts on which aren't finished yet but are looking soooo cute.
Anyway I have a card to share that I made last week and whilst trawling through blogland found that it would fit beautifully into this weeks challenge over at Lili's little faries challenge which is Vintage/Shabby Chic

The stamp used is 'best friends' which I have couloured with ProMarkers and then matt and layered onto kraft card and papers from my stash having slightly distressed all the edges with distress ink. I have added a piece of lace and a dye cut embellishment to which I have stuck some little lilac pearls.
The picture isn't the best but I still have no camera so it was taken on my phone. I also decorated the inside of the card and used a metal corner embellishment to emphasise the blank area for your message.

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Snow......again!

Well it's been two months since I last posted and yes we are having snow again! Getting fed up with being cold and would like to think that we can't be that many weeks away from some warmer weather :)
Talking of warmer weather the challenge over at Lili's Little Fairies this week is Spring Colours and they are also having a design team call so am going to try my luck. If you are reading this post and you have never visited the Lili of the Valley on line shop then click on the link liliofthevalley.co.uk and have a look at all the gorgeous and cute images they have there, they will leave you drooling and wanting every single one. Looking for inspiration then go look at LOTV's Ideas to Inspire for beautiful and amazing card creations.
Anyway now for a card

The image is Lili of the Valley - Daisy Chain which I have coloured with ProMarkers, the background papers and card are all from my stash, as is the ribbon, buttons and gems. The little bit off lace peeking from the side of the vertical panel is from The Ribbon Girl the die is actually a snowflake die but the shapes remind me of flowers and I think it looks good across the bottom of the card with the tiny buttons and gems as flower centres. Sorry again for the poor picture quality but the camera is still not fixed.

I am entering this card into the following challenge:
Lili's Little FairiesChallenge - Spring Colours

Fingers crossed that I may be lucky enough to be chosen to join the Lili of the Valley design team and here's hoping that we have some warmer weather soon.
